Just recently found your channel and I love it! I’ve had quite a few scopes and surgeries done and anesthesiologists are always just the sweetest people with their patients. I was in your shoes 26 years ago and now have been in practice for 21 years. I also did a peds anesthesia fellowship. I have no regrets in choosing the field of anesthesiology. It is a most humbling profession. You will have many moments where the s**t will hit the fan and you just want to panic.

Just stay calm and do what you have been trained to do. You will be the controller of how everyone else around you will behave. Just stay in control and never let them see you sweat. Through the years, your calm demeanor under pressure will make everyone trust and respect you. Good luck with your career!

I worked for a doctor who married a dermatologist and he is such a kind man. We had a patient coming in for treatment and she was a frail old lady, her son brought her. She had something going on with her nose and he was concerned. It wasn't anything that was going to impact her treatment he would provide her but he asked her and her son (as her son could better hear and understand his concern) if he could take a photo and pass it on to his wife to look at it. He would then follow up with them if she recommended that this woman comes in to her office for a consult. Sometimes there is benefits when a couple are both doctors...
