Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024) Review: I'm glad Amazon changed this!

My thoughts on the new Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024). It's not a massive upgrade over the one from a couple of years ago, and the display is the same as the last refresh, but the amount of value is incredible, especially on sale for $54. It's hard not to recommend, and it's more useful than you think!

Just replaced my 16gb 2020 model Fire8HD generation 8 with this upgrade and what a difference in performance. It's so much sharper and smoother now and a lot quicker. I'm happy. Just perfect for browsing and reading and watching videos etc. Amazon have done a good upgrade now.

I bought it for $54 and this might as well be the best value on any mini tablet ever. Even Youtube on the silk browser works as if it were a stand-alone app. Plus I use it for color comics, magazines, and color manga. No buyer's remorse whatsoever.

If Amazon would just make an HD 8 with full 1080p HD screen, laminated display, and support for a proper YouTube app it would be perfect. I love the 8 inch form factor it’s perfect for me but the limitations of the HD 8 finally pushed me to buy an iPad mini. If you’re into android the Lenovo Legion Tab is a beast too.

I ordered this with the black friday deal, im so excited, my first fire tablet! It's supposed to be here today. I got it so I can read manga, reading manga on my kindle is so slow!!

Great to see that something that isn't the latest and fastest get an honest review. You know that I think enough is often enough with tech. Unfortunately the affiliate link doesn't deliver here, but I'm going to treat myself, another upside is that it will increase my phones battery life.

I got the 32gb model in October in the UK, used it mainly for show mode, over night Amazon removed show mode in the fire os 8.3.3.1 update for no reason, they said it wasnt compatible but it worked fine for the first month.

The irony is people. Spend hundreds on a device that a fire tablet could do for pennies in comparison.
