Yacht #3 The engines run! CAR WIZARD has both Mercruser engines running and many updates & surprises

The CAR WIZARD 🧙‍♂️ has made significant progress on the 1989 Carver Santego 27' yacht! Both engines are running and had found several surprises along the way. Also see the overall progress on the restore.

Actual ‘engineer’ from carver yachts here. During my time there, I handled pretty much everything in the engine bay. I wish I had service techs as competent as the Wizard at our dealerships.

Worked in a marina in Northern Ontario as a kid, nearly 60 years ago. Also owned a few boats in my time. Love your whole show, but the nautical episodes bring back a warm glow of nostalgia. Thank-you for your excellent programs.

We’ve serviced impellers here that the guy said he tried it himself and they came out looking like that.
If you install them in the wrong direction it will tear them up. Especially the Jabsco pumps. Which some folks do. They’ll put a through-hull fitting and a small 12V 150 GPH pump and T it off to the cooling lines. This way if you’re out 200+ miles off shore you have an instant way to get back ( just flip the on switch for the pump) and it doesn’t cost very much or take much time to install.

I knew it! I could tell from the previous yacht video that Mrs. Wizard was a professional educator. She did a lengthy one-take shot of the interior in a logical series, addressing each issue explaining the what, why, and how in simple step by step progression and concluded in a summary of what she just presented. If I lived in Lawrence, I'd want her to be my kid's teacher!

For painting a smooth coat of enamel, oil or water-base, use a velour 1/4 inch roller cover with a mini-roller handle found at Sherwin Williams Paint Stores, it will lay down smooth like glass far better than a foam roller. I am a professional painter & use them often for a high end finish on cabinets & furniture.
