So I live in Arizona and with the antelope canyon place it is on a reservation so you can not go without a tour guide… you also can’t go during certain times of the year due to flash floods, that’s how the caves formed!

As a native from native reservation, there are far more beautiful places with little to no tourists. But you definitely need a tour guide. I’ll happily take people to my grandmas backyard (the Grand Canyon)

as someone who lives in Arizona, these places are beautiful but BEWARE OF THE INSANE HEAT, ONLY COME HERE IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU GET SUNBURNED EASILY

Arizona has my heart. I will absolutely be moving there within the next few years. Arizona is where I feel at peace and the happiest. I go many times a year. I absolutely love it there❤

Please don't go to Antelope Canyon without a guide. It is on Navajo land so the guide is required to enter.

You omitted THE ONE PLACE ON EARTH that should be on everyone's 'Bucket List;' one of the Natural Wonders of The World: THE GRAND CANYON! A person may enjoy so many of Arizona's great sites, but truly, none compare to The Grand Canyon! I've been to 3 of the Wonders of the World, and many of the Natural Wonders, as well, but the magnificence of The Grand Canyon surpasses them all! It is not only breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL, but its sheer depths, monoliths, ancient habitats, caves, hidden secrets and mystery, is utterly captivating! If you've never been, plan on spending an entire vacation there, an experience you will never forget!

Agreed, as long as you don’t mind hiking in 110 degree weather 🫣

I absolutely love all the residents/frequent visitors in this comment section, posting awareness and warnings for those who just see a pretty place to hike.

I know they never will, because it isn't their job. But more influencers who cover travel, need to stop posting only the beauty of these places and start sharing some warnings/dangers within their travel spots. I was born and raised on Oahu my entire life. I can't tell you how many tourist drown, get lost, fall off cliffs or die because they were going somewhere they weren't supposed to or couldn't handle for an instagram photo!

I tried to get to the birthing cave. Got lost. Then a guy told me where to find ancient Indian ruins. I had to climb up a few places but it was awesome!

You should probably tell everyone that you can't get to the best sections of Antelope Canyon by kayak.

Try to go early in the morning before it gets hotter than Satan's oven. Even the Winter sun is intense.

Places in Northern AZ get cold. There maybe snow & ice.

Hiring guides is a really good idea. And in some places its required. Especially if you are traveling on the Reservation.

A lot of places require potetial visitors to enter a lottery for park passes. This is done to preserve our beautiful state.

**Please follow this rule of thumb. Pack-in & pack-out. Leave only footprints**

If you're more into hotels, swimming pools & restaurants. We have those too.

A few suggestions:
Sedons, Oak Creek
Phoenix, Tucson
Bisbee, Prescott, Payson

I’m a guide for lower antelope canyon, if you’re not physically capable of completing a hike I’d recommend upper antelope canyon which is far easier, lower antelope canyon is 3/4 mile round trip and it’s all walking, also hydrate the night before, hydrating the day of is too late. Expect 110° weather and higher humidity in the summer time. If you want the best tour go around 9-10am it’s less crowded and that’s when you get the best colors. The wave also has an advanced lottery for a higher chance of winning, it’s like 4 months in advance, if you do the day of lottery your chance is 1/1000

“You won’t believe you’re in the US” *shows the only place in the world with that landscape, in the US* 😂

Hooray for influencers, constantly exposing and then ruining our favorite local gems...😢

The true antelop canyon with the guide is a whole nother experience, yes it's crowded but it's the only true way of experiencing it. All the other canyons near it is much wider and bigger so it doesn't have the same cool lighting effect.

I live here. It’s hot, cost of living is super high and the majority of it looks like scorched Earth because it’s usually a million degrees. These are just the nice, touristy places you can visit.
