I hate the way he just says so what? So what? So if it doesn't matter give me a check too, okay? Lot of my ancestors didn't come until the late 1800s and they worked really hard farming on a smaller scale. In other words they didn't have an industrial-size farm and my great-grandfather worked his land until he was in his 90s!! It's very hard work. There was no retiring for the majority. My mother-in-law's parents were subsistence farmers in Kentucky who had no electricity or indoor plumbing.
The pioneers built the country and a large percentage of them and their children died in the process.

I am light skinned freckles and then found out I had a mixed great grandfather and, like almost all of us in the south, have multiple tribes in us. All American mutt and proud of that, as our USA motto states: e pluribus unum >>out of many, One! So would everyone pay themselves bc less than 1% of 3rd generation US born citizen is purebred no matter how dark or, in my case, light your skin is.

Some of my ancestors were immigrants, and modern America wouldn't exist without immigrants. Also, I have native heritage. However since I can't prove my native history, since the records were destroyed, I haven't seen a cent in reparations. If you count every person whose ancestors contributed to the current power America has, they'd have to pay every American

I look at it like this. My ancestors lost a war because they wanted to save their culture over keeping their lands and pride. They went from millions to just a few thousands. But one mans said something to me that made me say you right. He was Native American as well. Why live off the past. Why live off your ancestors grief. Why not honor them and pay your respects to them for going through the crap they went through to make sure you had a better life and did not have to go through what they went through. I had to shake the mans hand. He was so right. If you life in the past the future will pass you by and nothing ever changes.
