It's been here for years! 3 teams from 5 leagues go straight to group stage of Champions league and 4th into one qualifier. 5 leagues in Europe have some 35 teams in Europe. Money goes mostly to those 5 leagues and you have European Super league.

Its Sky that gets me. They were the ones lamenting a European Super league, they even made a bloody documentary about it but you can guarantee as soon as it happens, they'll be the first ones looking to get the TV rights. Awful establishment

I hate to say this but I fully agree with Simon Jordan on this. He's been the only one talking sense about the topic without getting emotional about football being "for the fans" and all that bs people make up without providing solid arguments. The SuperLeague was terribly setup from the start (by being a closed competition) but they'll simply change it and come back.

Both sides have leverage, in my opinion none will come out winning unless they agree on a solution.

Simon is spot on. Fans were stupid enough to buy into the Sky narrative and Neville's bleating that we had to save the English game, when it was all about the Prem/Sky's stranglehold on English football. And, fair play to them, they even managed to convince the fans that it was 'the fans wot saved us'.

It's as John Barnes put it the first time the Super league was pushed, Football in England sold out when it formed the Premier League, with the heightened sponsorship and wages. It created a vast gulf and effectively created a smaller monopoly within the 'elite' sides. Then teams could be taken over and have billions pumped in, the next stage is the Super league. It's the nature of capitalism, it swallow's everything up. Pure greed.

The truth is the Premier League at this time is the real Super League. In two years you’ll have eight big teams which is crazy. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Newcastle and Tottenham are all competing for top four right now

The judgement says they can do it.. just not be able to play in the champions league (which they wouldn't anyway). The prem has released a statement that didn't mention uefa at all, just some points that need to be met for it to be acceptable. Negotiotiations will be underway.

Simon is spot on, money talks end of. If the right finance, the right clubs and the right set of rules are met then the super league will happen. The money people look at what happened to American sports when they were franchised and teams moved cities and know that enough fans world wide follow the teams name and not the city in which it is based. The only way to stop it would be complete and repeat acts of sabotage all over Europe in the same way that Man United fans stopped their game against Liverpool the last time the "super league" reared its ugly head. On the plus side, a bit of anarchy is good for the soul.
