This idea is so important. I finally decided to chase what I want for myself, a jazz degree. Once I graduate nursing school, I’m going for it. My parents discouraged me to do so as it’s not their definition of success, but it’s so incredibly important for my well being to go for what I want.

Such a seemingly simple concept but a difficult one to follow through on. Great video!

I relate the story so much bc as a woman ppl think I’ve reached the pinnacle of success bc I got married, stayed married, gave birth and raised a child. It’s almost heartbreaking to be regulated to the boundaries of my husband’s identity. Ppl will say his successes are my successes but that seems unacceptable bc I am a person in my own right and was born that way. I should be able to have my own dreams and work to fulfill them
