To find the area of a trapezoid, we need to use the following formula...
a = 1/2h(b1 + b2) which means, one half height times base 1 + base 2
So, let's assume we have a trapezoid with a height of 6 inches, a base of 12 inches and another base of 8 inches.
Let's first find half of the height which is 3 inches.
Now, let's find the sum of the base (12 + 8) = 20
Now multiply 3 by 20 to get an area of 60 inches squared.
