This sounds exactly what i am trying to do. i never knew what i wanted to really do in school. I went to an amazing HS with something called a Pathway. they had two programs in the school, engineering and performing arts. of course i joined the engineering pathway and for a while i wanted to be a mechanical engineer. i loved everything about it but eventually i changed my mind to architecture since i always enjoyed drawing as a kid. had an internship in architecture and took architecture classes that my HS offered. when senior year came i applied to Cal Poly SLO but wasn't accepted, not surprised. Because of that i changed my mind again to business. I had two years of tax preparation which was why i chose that. Got accepted to Fresno State for business and attended Fall of 2020. Was there for a semester doing zoom classes and loved it because school was never that easy. teachers always made college seem like it was going to be hard but for me it was easier than HS. I wanted to begin gaining business related experience so i began working at State Farm and that was a game changer. That made me realize i hated sales. Trying to sell a product to mee was equivalent to bothering people constantly. i hated it and didn't want to waste 4 years of my life AND thousands of dollars. So i finished up my first semester and never went back. In the mean time i had already been working at Burger King since the hour right after graduating from HS. I continued working there until i found out what i wanted to do. I remembered what a friend of mine once told me, "if you ever become a welder, i'll let you use my welder." I had no clue what a welder was but i focused my thoughts to that idea. i researched welding schools and ended up attending Advanced Career Institute. I loved the WHOLE experience. I just graduated on May 13, 2022 and had gotten a job as a welder at Bluescope Buildings North America starting at $23.43/hr starting pay. I started making $3, 100 every two weeks working a lot of overtime. I met an amazing guy there who basically told me you need to have more than one income if you really want financial freedom. That stuck with me and realized that i have an amazing job paying me the money i need to find that financial freedom. I set up my 401k to save 15% of my paychecks, i am now trying to pay off my consumer debts so i can eventually have more money left over to save. and to me, rn is the perfect time to begin investing since everything is so damn cheap and history has always shown that the economy always comes back. My plan rn is to save up enough to be able to make a 20% down payment for a home and rent it out to begin my journey with passive income. all this while still living with my parents to truly maximize my money. i am barely 20.

You could live a very comfortable retirement with That's $50, 000 a year for 20 years. I live a great life now on only 30, 000 a year. Of course that doesn't include going on vacations for weeks and weeks, 2 purchased rental property and RM 016

I believe it's Mark Tilbury's story that is singlehandedly keeping the world's economic system from exploding.

Major props for the great editing, and the effort to add images, videos, switch locations and even riding the train. Video is extremely high quality and this type of editing is what keeps someone glued to the video. When some on e just sits and talks for 15 mins there’s no way they can keep the ppls attention. Congrats on the great content and thank you for it!!

I'll be turning 21 in a few months, started investing 2 years ago. And during that time I found you Mark. After watching almost all videos from the last who knows how long, I feel like I have sort-of clear plan for retiring early. I don't really care about money itself, I care about the stuff I can access with money. There are a few things I want, a car and an house. But the most important thing, freedom. Cars and houses are not fun if you don't have the time to enjoy them.

Thanks for everything! I'm 19 yrs old and I feel the very same things... And I'm about to decide whether to go to university or not. When I talk about these, Everyone says I'm wrong, but this aweful system is just not for me

One of your best videos I think. As a somewhat older person, so many points resonate with me, buying cars, credit card debt, not saving, feeling trapped, and then as you say, when starting to improve yourself, those around you do their utmost to bring you down. The tall poppy syndrome is has always been a problem here in Australia too.

Last decade I had over $30, 000 of credit card debt, from excessive spending and a business idea gone wrong. Was advised to go bankrupt, decided instead to knuckle down and pay it all back. And I did, every last cent.
Recently I opened my investment account and saw money sitting there, free money! From dividends! Wow, it was a great feeling.
I've left it a bit late but nevertheless I'm moving forward. All the best folks! 😁

To have things you've never had before, you have to do things you've never done before. Great video, Mark! I enjoyed this one.

Mark, I feel genuinely like I'm sitting down with my dad and he's giving me worldly advice that I know I need to listen to.
Keep up the great work, you're giving people the retirement - 'freedom' they didn't know how to obtain!

I have been telling myself for years to do the needful: open a brokerage account, buy ETFs or whatever, just play it safe. My past five or six New Year's resolutions have included this. Yet I just can't make myself do it, for some reason. I think it's time to admit that I'll never be a smart, thrifty, DIY investor, like all millennials are supposed to be.

Hi Mark,
Im 23 and mostly because of
You I have started Investing as much as I can to escape this broken system. You said it yourself, it was created by the rich and is supported by the rich with the main aim to make workers and keep the rich rich and the poor poor. I have been inspired by you and grahams channel to try and teach others what ye have taught me. Its time to fight back and make the change

I know this may sound corny but you videos give me hope and inspiration. I hope I'll get to where you are. But I always feel like I'm missing something like information I don't yet know.
