5:10 is that really Carolinian? Because I’m Chuukese and Carolinian is supposed to sound almost like Chuukese. That sounds like it’s Chamorro.

Hi, can someone tell me if there is any etymological relation between Guugu Yimidhirr (aboriginal) and some branches of polynesion/austronesion languages? I am asking because many ancient syntax and semantics are lost from this language and I am looking for comparison in possible related languages as for meaning of specific words which I cannot find on the internet nor in etymological literature. Hope someone can help me or forward.

Easter Island speaks (Chilean) Spanish alongside Rapanui. Not exactly a colonization language, but I might just throw that out there.
