I'm a geek, read the card. I've flown numerous times and still pay attention to them when they do their spiel.

Then I guess I'm not average as I actually listen AND read the safety card...
Mainly because I have nothing better to do, but I eventually read the card as I'm paranoid about airplane crashes even though they're uncommon.

Having OCD, you worry a lot of the what if's, so at the beginning of every flight, I look at the card, watch the video, see if I could reach the oxygen mask, and look for my life jacket.

When I go on the plane everyone looks at me when i read the safety card

They missed a lot of important tips. The reason why they say only inflate your jacket at the exit is because if you inflate it inside, and the water floods the plane, you can't swim out to the exits. And when sliding down the slide, have your hands horizontally out, for balance and so people can pull and help you up.

I always pay attention to the video and the flight attendant. I once complained to the head FA that there was no life jacket under my seat and they had to bring me one.

This was a great episode, and glad I was able to take part.

It ought to be taught in schools! Also, the stewards can require the passengers to perform the brace positions, pulling air masks, etc before or during the flight!

A bunch of people say that they are more scared now that they watched this, but I feel more safe and educated.

Its your job to save your life. Period. I ended up in a hotel fire when someone hit my door, yelled "FIRE!" and kept stepping! I thought someone else would check to see if I made it out. No one else came. Not even the fire department because they assumed I was smart enough to save myself and left when I was told to. Lesson learned while I stumbled around lost and inhaling smoke until I finally saw the daylight!

I always look where the nearest and second nearest emergency exit is located when I get situated in the plane. I know the drill.

I’ve flown at least 40 times in my life. I feel amazed at how I have survived 40 normal flights and I’m still flying. This video hits close to home because the more flights I go on the more times I survive and I think I flies so much life isn’t going to let me get through without a crash. I’m about to go on 2 more flights and I still love traveling and don’t plan to stop. I hope this will soon save my life.

Edit: Not that I want to be in a crash.

My parents were laughing at me because I was reading the instructions but I didn’t care because I knew I would be prepared if anything happened.

In New Zealand the videos that inform you about the safety rules are actually like interesting and not boring they have a specific theme form where you are going

I seem to be the only one that pays attention to the Safety Demonstrations.

I learnt a lot of things, this is great. I knew most of it except that you had to pull on the oxygen mask to start it. Thanks!
