This anvil is of English make, and seems to be cast steel with a very thick faceplate. In near perfect condition with full heat-treat, this anvil will provide many years of use.

I am from Durban South Africa and have been dabbling with knife making and forging for the past 33 years.
My daughter Diajal has just found me the most precious gift any father could hope for....2 CWT John Brooks Made in England 102 kg Monster...Pretty much similar to your treasure. She found this on the border of South Africa and Zimbabwe at an antiques shop who claim it was found at an abandoned transfrontier railroad workshop. Took me 6 hours to descale it lightly and bring it back to functionality.
This is the most revered jewel in by mancave/forge and i wish I could carry it around chained around my neck like the piece of gold that it is.
Your video and reverence to this piece confirms that I may not be crazy after all.

What a beauty - last anvil a guy might ever buy. I think it deserves to have some wrought straps made for the base - it'd be fun if you shrunk them on.

Man.. What an awsome find!

Tip for you.. The rusty chain does take away from the look, but there is a fix. Remove the chain and spray it down with some PB Blaster.. then put it back on the anvil. The PB will give it a nice brown patina. I even wipe my anvils, hammer heads, and tongs with it. No ugly rust and the tool is protected.
