When I first started watching Hamilton's Pharmacopeia, I didn't know who he was and I thought that him reciting chemical compounds and processes during the montages was just a gimmick. I swiftly realized the man is a brilliant chemist. He literally synthesized a compound because he wanted to preserve a population of desert toads so people could get high sustainably without harming them. Wild.

Edit: To everyone telling me how easy this synthesis is, I bet your Big Dick chemistry degree from Shitballs University was a breeze, it's incredible how many "chemists" come out of the woodwork when you compliment one on YouTube

Hi Hamilton, I just finished my last year of high school, your documentaries and vice articles (especially the sea sponge one) have been a huge influence on my interest in chemistry. Although Covid cancelled many of my in class practical experiments, I have had a lot of fun creating various esters and interesting smelling compounds at home.
