My mom and I watched this movie a couple weeks ago, and after the reporter asked THAT question, my mom asked something along the lines of, "Which one are YOU supposed to be?"

I'm rewatching this movie now and picking up things I hadn't when I was younger. This reporter stands up and asks this question and it seems the joke is that the reporter is presenting as a man, but is played by Coco Leigh, a woman.

I think this question is actually very relevant, it would likely be a popular question about an alien species.
