I bought an RC-F. Thing to remember is the cars like these are the top road tax band, it costs me £670 a year, insurance is high, parts costs are high, fuel economy is low, 21/22 mpg is pretty good going. I had to put new rear discs & pads on it & they cost £900 as they are brembo high carbon steel with directional pads. The rear tyres are an odd size so they arent cheap.

I picked up a VW Passat b6 recently for 1100. It's the 1.9tdi so in terms of value for money got a solid car for relatively low money and it's a great family saloon.

JB, these cars rock my world! I have a 2003 TVR Tuscan S 4.0. I bought her around 8 years ago for £21k, and now worth circa 35-40k and only increasing in value. She is identical to the black one featured in the vid apart from the colour of the rims, mine are smoked/darker. I wouldn't sell her for the world. She is for dry weather only, but she really is a proper car to drive. A couple of mods made are a stronger, racing gearbox, and an engine pre-oiler. She is always warmed up correctly before putting her to good use! I also love the 6.3 AMG coupe.

The thing I find mad is that the Maserati Quatroporte and the Bentley Continental GT and the Flying spur have been featured time and time again because of their value and their ridiculous price drop but here’s the thing. The Maserati was £82, 000 when new and is now around 7-18k, the Continental GT was £120, 000 new and is now £17-30 if you want the faster versions, but the Bentley Anarge T was £150, 000 new and is now also around £20, 000 but it’s not been featured that much even though it’ll probably go down in history as one of the most insane road cars to exist because of the sheer size of the thing and the fact that it’s 6.75litre twin turbo V8 could get it to 60 in 5.5 seconds and take it to a top speed of 168-175mph and was putting 450hp through a open diff in a car that weighed more than most houses.

Honestly I’d love to own one someday even if the MPG caused me to sell it a week later just cuz I love the thought of owning a car that laughs in the face of environmentalists whilst looking rather menacing while doing so if you get the right spec.

Why not a Mercedes S65 AMG lol. Twin Turbo V12 motor and they have depreciated at a massive pace.
I can’t imagine a more insane car that is 10-15 years old that can be purchased at a relatively low cost today.
For example a year 2011 cost 220, 000 USD when new, can now be purchased for under 30K USD.

Best value cars for me are the SL and CLS 55 AMG as well as the first gen Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It baffles me that you can have any of those three for <£10k 🙌

The RCF one isn't accurate, the first one shown was a RC300h not the V8 one, the prices start in the 35k range and climb really quickly. The GSF and ISF are more affordable

in terms of the best ever value for money car there's 2 ways you could look at it -
anything Toyota has made - the reliability is off the charts, any that is value for money. something that will get you from A-B safely. Yes it will be slow and probably mundane and boring... but you'll get there. (seriously - A girl in my year back in school got given a Yaris as a hand-me-down from her mother. At the time it must have been a 10 year old car and had about 100, 000 on the clock... never had an oil change, never had a clutch replacement - basically was as it came out of the showroom besides tyres and brakes)

but then the real answer, for me atleast, has to be the W204 C63. It pains my heart to say it as a BMW guy, but that car is about as good as you could dream of for the price you can grab them for. Seen them for as low as £12k in decent condition. A 4 year old astra is about 15k. Obviously a cheap one will be high mileage and need expensive maintenance - but fuck me... what a car
