For everyone who has asked me what my morning’s are like, here’s the video for you! If you become a barista me you’ll have to be an early morning person but it’s definitely worth it.
Sorry for the wonky upload schedule this week, I’m moving soon and just picked out the new apartment! Can’t wait to show you my new setup!
See ya next week!

Being the person who “opens” a restaurant or any business is an empowering feeling! It allows you to set the pace and tone for those who show up later.

I love these barista vlogs. I’m just going to experience my dream of owning a coffee shop by living vicariously through you

She’s relaxed while she’s working as a barista because first of all she’s doing the opening shift and no one is there and secondly because she works at a small cafe. If you want to work as a barista but be in a rather low stress environment I do NOT recommend working at a place like Starbucks or other big commercial coffee places because those stores are focused on quick and somewhat easy service which means as a worker you will be stressed and busy as heck. If you want this ideal portrayal of a chill barista environment then I suggest you apply at a small local cafe or small chain cafe place. Of course there are other things that you can factor in that determines the stress level of being a barista but this is all just my opinion.

As an opening supervisor at Starbucks, I am so jealous. I wish I was able to take my time with opening but there always tend to be a million of miscellaneous tasks to get done on top of brewing coffees, teas, prepping the bars, etc. Although I do try to sneak in some time for my daily flat white before opening the doors :)

Omg I love this! My boyfriend told me to watch this video because for about 3 years, including now, I’ve been working at Starbucks and I love it. I’m currently going to college and my plans for after is to eventually open up my own coffee shop. I work mornings as well, Monday-Friday at 6:30am. Morning give me so much energy, even though I’m tired, and makes me look forward to the rest of my day. I enjoy my morning tasks before we open up, my Starbucks is actually on campus of my school(St. Mary’s Uni) and I love seeing my regulars and having their coffee ready before they even order, well sometimes. Thanks for sharing this video, truly enjoyed it💕

I’m a barista as well, and every opening shift my coworker and I have a shot glass of cold brew to get the juices flowing👌🏼😂

Having been laid off back in March this really makes me realize how much I miss being a barista and, more specifically, opening shifts. Something romantic about having the entire shop to yourself and dialing in everything while you listen to the perfect early morning playlist. Super rad tulip btw. The most stacks I ever got was 7 or 8.

This was so calm and wholesome that it made me miss opening even in retail.

This looks so peaceful and lovely! When I worked as a barista I was like a chicken with my head cut off for my entire solo opening shift. I don't think I ever stopped moving, lol. This looks so much better for your mental and physical health! Also, so well shot!

Pro-tip on restocking: Replace shelved / racked products back to front, not front to back. That way the oldest product gets moved to the front and is not just hanging around. I'm sure your work has some rule about when everything should be completely replaced, but this will at least decrease the chances that your customers will draw the short straw on a busy day and get much older product than the customers who got the fresh restock earlier in the day.

This makes me miss being a barista. I loved the morning shift. All my favorite regulars would come in during the morning and we'd all have a great time.

Holy hell, with all the testing you have to taste, imagine the caffeine rolling through. I'd be running around lit AF and wired through the day.

*“Oat milk of course, because dairy hurts me.”*

I’ve never heard more truer and relatable words.
