We use the word "worship" a lot in church, but where does that language come from? In 1977, a deep dive into the Bible revealed some surprising differences between the New Testament Greek terms that are translated as "worship," and the meaning of the term today. This video unpacks those findings and challenges us to rethink what we call worship.

I already watched your series on the church, and found it very refreshing. It is good to see these short highlights as an aid to remember key points from that series. I am however left with a question, that is, are the New Testament verses prescriptive or descriptive? I would be more comfortable to think of them as prescriptive but I actually think they are descriptive which means the assembling of believers together can take whatever forms they want. For instance, if a group of believers want to meet together any day of the week to eat, pray, read and play cricket, it is acceptable, but if I am not interested in cricket then such a meeting is not for me.🏏
