Finding the Surface Area of Prisms & Pyramids

This video lesson will introduce the formula for finding the surface area of a right rectangular prism and how to use it. The lesson will also introduce strategies to find the surface area of a rectangular or triangular prism or pyramid. Vocabulary will be reviewed to insure students can identify a prism or a pyramid. Students will learn how to create a net of a solid and how to use it to find the surface area of a solid. Student practice is embedded in the lesson and exemplar problems are modeled.
