The problem with switching seats is that if I paid for a window seat and it was expensive why would I switch seats with anyone for a cheaper seat?

Who would have thought that deregulation of the industry would make the airline companies care about their profits and not about the quality of the service that they provide. Crazy.

What’s bs is that say you never make it to your final destination and only make it halfway. The connecting flight is canceled and the airline never re-books you on a flight to your final destination. They’re only responsible for refunding that part of the trip. Which is bs because you bought a ticket for a full amount that’s going to take you to where you actually want to go, not just halfway. Then you’re stuck in a city that you don’t need to be and have to pay a full amount to book a whole new trip. That’s wrong

Can the FAA please mandate minium seat sizes? I swear, every time I take an economy flight I feel like I'm being squeezed in

Here in Europe, you can't book any seat except the one right next to your child, the systems just don't allow this to go through. And not only one parent, but both.
you're refunded in cash in case of cancellation. If you choose to be booked on next available flight however, you get food, hotel accomodation, drinks and taxi vouchers. Been through this at least three times in Europe with minimal discomfort.

The air travel experience status in 2024 is the worst in its history, from buying a ticket, getting to the airport, check in, flight, arrival and leaving the airport, the passenger is at the bottom of the importance chart. Unless you can afford a private jet, its a total failure

It’s frustrating that airlines can charge so many hidden fees. The transparency issue makes it nearly impossible to make informed decisions when booking flights.

I haven't flown since 2003 because it just became far, FAR to onerous to bother. If I can't drive there, take a train or boat, I don't bother going.

Flying sucks a** these days. I loath it.

I'd love to see travel aggregators held accountable too. Expedia advertises "free carry-on" but once you get through, they try to charge. I have/had screenshots of this and the rep agreeing, but said they weren't responsible and it was airline policy...yet they specifically advertised carry-on and knew the flight cost and KNEW it wasn't a free bad all the way through! I don't know how to define false advertising more clearly than that.

Airline should also refund hotel cost if you end up missing your flight because of long line at customs. Airline sucks at scheduling enough time between flights go through customs.

I stopped flying flat-out in 2022. Too much anxiety. No amount of money could get me to get into bed with the scummiest companies in the country.

My cousin just told me about how a United employee told her he was told by management not to speak and help customers. This was to avoid the possibility of refunding a customer when flight is cancelled or delayed for 12 hours which her flight was. Based on the story it sounded like airlines are doing everything possible to avoid the new laws that were designed to help customers. Wish USA would build high speed rails so Americans to compete with airlines at least domestically.

Free market competition is great for cost. However, there need to be rules and regulations for quality and safety for complex industries such as aviation.

Two voices, one too soft and inarticulate, the other vocal fry with high volume changes. Really hard to watch.

A return to actual customer service would be the fix in my opinion…this is not just a US problem, the airline crisis is an international problem too

I don't know if the government is trying to fix it

I don't mean to be rude ...but her voice and tone makes this hard to listen to. It's a medium dependent on listening and its important to have someone who can speak in a normal tone.

Heathcare should also have to be transparent about how much they charge and what it includes.

Stop rights violations (search and siezure), Reduce costs and increase efficiency by getting rid of the TSA. Or at least reduce them to 10% of their current size.
