I like how they don't forget budget category, and they are very honest with the reviews, that make me watch their reviews even if I don't want to buy a laptop.

I have the Ryzen 7 8840U version since 1 month and it has exceeded my expectations. Amazing <1kg wt, no need to carry a separate charger (I use my 65w phone charger to charge this), great keyboard and amazing performance. Battery I get is 7-8 hrs, mostly office work/internet/email all together.
Just installed Dishonored 2 PC game and it runs at very high setting without any issue. All in all if you are looking for a very light wt laptop+charger this is spectacular. Only LG gram beats this in built quality (which my wife has). Mac Air is 20-30% heavier and has 8GB. For the price and weight, there is no other option in market.

I like that they go over the prices snd comparisons of when the laptop is at different sale prices! I found it very clarifying, and if I wanted by a laptop it sould help me a lot!

rrrrr.

I'm not a fan of HP laptops, but I appreciate another balanced review like I've come to expect from your channel.

Costs 50% more in Germany :(
But I still enjoy every review you all make, keep up the great work!

The HP Pavillion Aero has actually been a great laptop going as far back as 2021. At $660 new, good luck finding something new that's better at around this price point.

And some of the "cons", like the below average touchpad, can be mitigated, for example, by using a mouse.

For this model I recommend trying it on-hand. The touchpad is really loud and hollow, the keyboard is not great, and the magnesium chassis feels a lot like plastic.
The positive thing about this one is the price, but there are many alternatives from Lenovo too.
Edit: after finishing this video, I realized Josh and his staff pointed out all of those problems.

Costco currently has an HP Pavilion 16 laptop on sale thru Sep 22nd for $599. 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 1920x1200 Touchscreen IPS display (62% sRGB, 300 nit) with the same ports mentioned in the video. I got one to replace my Dad's 10 year old laptop, and so far it seems like a great value for the money.

Be careful on upgrading the Wi-Fi cards in this laptop; some HP laptops have a UEFI whitelist meaning many cards not offered by HP may not work.

Also, that rant at 5:10! 😂

shout out to your cameraman, great job keeping it intelligible and with enough movement to stay interesting

Really great review as usual! Could you just please add the European pricing for your next reviews? Prices here are quite often close to 50% higher and it makes a lot of laptops not worth it anymore.

HP making laptops at $660 that have 16 : 10 screens, better keyboards and better performance than more expensive Linux-first options absolutely shows 16 : 9 screens on premium and mid-range laptops need to die in the same bin as HD-DVDs!

Hi Josh. I have big request for you if you can do it, please. I wanted to see a head to head from between this 3 laptops: ASUS Vivobook S14 (Ryzen 7 8845HS) VS ASUS Vivobook S14 (Ryzen AI 9 365) VS ASUS Vivobook S14 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370). I'm really curious about the difference in graphic performance in games between them and efficienty, because the older version has an amazing price right now, but the other have in my opinion a really high price on the market. Thank you so much. And amazing job with this channel, I love the work you do.

It's a great little laptop for the price! I bought one for my aunt last summer with 16gb/512gb/1080p/5625U for $600 shipped and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was

I've been tapping with two fingers for double clicking in laptops since my parents got me the vaio duo 13 (worst trackpad to ever exist) back in 2014. I'm flabbergasted that people didn't know you can do that. I don't even use clicks in trackpads for that very reason, which is why I have never cared about trackpads clickiness, tapping is just simpler.
