Hero dog dies protecting kids from mountain lion in Idaho Springs

The family dog, a pit bull-chihuahua mix, saved four children from a mountain lion who was stalking them while they played in the yard.

I am disappointed there was no human assistance or intervention for this absolutely heroic brave Chi-Chi Pitbull mix. Way too small to take on PUma alone, needed human help, baseball bat, rock anything, to keep faith with her as a Comrade-in-Arms. I'd say grow a pair and help

City folk need to be extremely educated on the difference between suburban life and mountain life. Up here you better always watch your back because mountain predators are always hunting. Keep dogs on a leash and eyes on kids and stop thinking it won't happen to me attitude.

Get a replacement dog a Dogo Argentino is the best dog to protect your children. Bred to fight mountain lions. Gentle with your children! Research them, then get one, you won't regret it!

You live in the mountains. There are predators there. Your children probably would have been fine because the lion probably wanted a tasty dog snack. Or maybe the motion of the swingset attracted the lion. You can't do the same things as if you lived in the city when you live in the mountains.
