The primary reason we went hardside is because it's easier to clean. I just keep it full. One time, I stuffed extra clothing I didn't need into my large luggage to fill it. LOL! (didn't have the time to buy a medium)

I wouldn't care about what the handlers do. Make your bag unique. They get paid to care so they better care!

Of course the ones that weigh more and are more “fancy” take longer to get to you because those are the ones TSA and bag handlers is going through to find stuff they want.
Less weight: probably more clothes, no electronics or jewelry (at least not valuable ones)
More generic common back one: doesn’t stand out, owner isn’t total broke a$$ n spends/wastes extra money on “unique” suitcase so mostly likes buying stuff, unnecessary things, or just flashy things to stand out n be bougie 💅
