EMG RPC Control Demo

Quick demo of the EMG RPC Control in my Jackson King V Elite FSR with EMG 57/66 pickup set.

Via the EMG website -

"The RPC is a variable active control that boosts the high frequency response of your guitar up to 6 dB at 4000 Hz, while simultaneously reducing low frequency response. Controlled via a pot, in place of your standard tone knob, this circuitry allows you to sweep from the natural sound of your guitar's pickup to accentuated highs typical of a single coil pickup. Humbucker players who want a more Strat characteristic available will appreciate the RPC's ability to give new tonal options to your guitar."

I am building a custom lp with 57 66 tw on it and was debating rpc and spc (spc on neck for the single coil mode boost) and this video made my decisioon clear, thank you.

On the EMG site description it was described as a sort of high frequency booster, but can it be used to cut off high frequency without muddies up the tone with bass and all that? (Unlike traditional tone pot turn down)

Quick question, i'm unsure if i want to get this RPC, the PI2, DPDT TW or the EXG.
My goal is to get as close to a "single coil" sound as possible, and hopefully without having to swap out the current emg 81-7H and 85-7H that are currently on my guitar. I understand some of these pots/switch ONLY work with specific pickups that have a coil split/tap option, where as others work with any EMG humbucker because they simply change the EQ? What are your thoughts and why did you pick the RPC?

Could this work as a mid boost for lead work? I have the AB220 installed and I was thinking about giving this a try.

I'm running a RA Super 77 set in my FSR King V Elite and was thinking about either the RPC or the SPC, I honestly don't play a lot of cleans so idk if it would be worth getting. Have you used the SPC at all?
