It is INSANE how much power starters actually have.

Thank u 4 showing this. Used to accidentally start the car while engine was still running. Now I see how it will affect both the starter and flywheel

that's how you sharpen your flywheel!!

I work with these things (bendix, solenoid, starter etc) for 4 years and finally see it in action.
(I'm a photographer for a company that imports car parts:))

This is why auto stop start should be disabled on all cars with teeth starters

Somebody needs to learn how to stay in it until it starts. Neither gear will last too long with that person short bumping the key. I guess somebody has to keep the local part store in business. He instead of me is always better in my opinion.

Holy shit. I see so much metal fragments and particles flinging off Everytime it's engaged lol 😂

Old school. Use to hammer those starters to get them to kick in. Especially when solenoid wouldn’t engage the flywheel all the way.

nothing more fun than changing out the starter on a Chevy 350.

I have a 7.3idi nonturbo diesel. Got a 1st gen powerstroke starter, since some accessories like that are shareable. The 1st gen strokes had more compression and needed a more powerful starter, so putting that on my 7.3idi allowed for a faster starter which results in quicker ignition and less time cranking away

Bendix or inertia drive.
This disengagement is due to inertia effect..
