Slender Man Stabber Begs Judge for Release from Psych Hospital

Morgan Geyser, the now 22-year-old woman who stabbed her classmate to appeased the fictional character Slender Man, appeared virtually in court on Friday for a brief hearing. Geyer is asking a Wisconsin judge again to release her from a psychiatric hospital. The judge scheduled dates for her to be examined, reports done and for the actual hearing to see if she is able to be released.

Begs? Appears to be due process rights for the patient. I don't know Wisconsin law, but she may be ordered released from a psychiatric hospital to a security review board in the community with an order for mandatory psychiatric treatment. This only for a release from the confines of the hospital. She is not incarcerated.
