Ben was supposed to be how Spider-Man was still who he was if you stripped away all of his support structure. Still a inherently good man, even if he had none of the people he loved. Marvel really screwed the pooch with this whole arch. They should have just sent him on his way again to roam the US and carve out his own like sort of like the 70s hulk TV series. A smaller story, a more personal story, about someone trying to find themselves while simultaneously hiding who they are (a clone of Peter P and another spider powered person).

Okay so let's recap, Ben Rielly is the New Dark Spiderman forever to be the villain Chasm, Venom completes his transformation as Bedlam, Madalyn Prior becomes a Protector of those cast away from the light and into the shadow, and Dylan is going to war with the king in blacks to regain his father
