I break down some huge FLAWS with Surf Skate Training and show you what you NEED to start implementing to actually carry over to your surfing.

Surf Skate Training can be tremendously helpful in improving your surfing, OR it can cement bad habits and stall progression in the water.

Surf Skate Training is astoundingly fun, and it's actually highly relevant from a neurological perspective in motor-pattern and skill development for surfing.

If you want to improve your surfing, it's a valuable tool if implemented efficiently.

Here I'll give you a run down of one of the big faults I see all too often, and then a few really good things to start working on.

I just bougth a Surfskate from a shaper here in Brasil, I used to surf like 10 years ago, now I live in the countryside, with no waves. I'm getting a little difficult to pump correctly, your tips are Gold. Thanks.

This is the first video out of countless ones I've watched that made sense to me. All these other videos had me poo manning and it did not FEEL right. I was going to sell my surf skate until I watched this. Visually seeing the difference between poo manning and what you just taught us blew my mind. It looks so elegant and not like someone having a seziure in order to build momentum. THANK YOU so much. Knowledge is power. 0.o

Just picked up the Carver x Lost C7 Rocket 10.5”x32.5” and I can’t wait to be able to surf on concrete all day while these summer Florida waves are non existent.

Well done Coach!!! The RANT is spot on... x-college athlete and varsity coach... Muscle memory is vital to everything. I love the preach on the "feel"... also, the separation of the upper body and lower body is huge... Just got a Carver yesterday to work on my surf game when it's flat. Video taped a ton of footage. If anyone has a carver use a marker to mark the bolt that holds the truck on both trucks and loosen them both a full 360. It’s perfect

Pumping is great. Not everyone who rides a carver gets in the water. Travelling onboard without feet pushing is great.

Central nervous system: Muscle memory is a result of motor learning that occurs in the central nervous system..."Neural pathways" Strengthening: Practicing a skill repeatedly strengthens the neural pathways associated with it, making the action feel more natural..Both muscle memory and neural pathways need repeated strengthening, practice repeatedly correctly...If not you ingrain wrong muscle memory that takes twice as long to undo via repeatedly practicing correctly....Nuances come from a base of "muscle memory" where you relax and adjust accordingly, yet are emergent from a solid fundamental technique... Amateurs practice until they occasionally get it right, professionals practice to rarely get it wrong..

I think bowl skating is the best crossover training, carving a 10' deep bowl with loose trucks is very close to the same muscle and reflex actions, it will keep that muscle memory refreshed
