You want your body and feet facing forward, not sideways. If the top of your board is 12 o clock, you want to have your front foot placed around 11 and your rear foot placed at 9:45 at the very least.

This makes all the difference when pumping. As you want to be using your knees and shoulders. And you don’t want to be swinging your arms around. The correct foot position also helps you to get a lower tuck when making sharp turns or slides and it dramatically helps with your overall balance, you have your feet and body facing forwards rather than sideways.

For me I put my front foot behind the farthest bolt and my back foot before the bend of the board and when I am carving sharp I like to push in the back pocket really had

I can't put my back food on the tail because my board is too long for me (34, 5 Yow Pukas). I'm only 160 cm tall and it's my first board. But I can still ride it really well by standing on the back screws.
