I don't understand the need to use this tool anywhere but a butt joint. This looks to have been a taper joint. It requires about half that much attention. A skilled man can prep a taper joint in minutes. What's the advantage here? Yes, I can see some uses for this method, but not a tapered joint.

I use the skim blade in combination with a GBT 500 airless plaster pomp in new build prefab home's.. and its Fantastic. But little thing like this, a skim blade is bs

I am a bit confused as the board appears to be blue board made for skim coat plaster not drywall mud? Anyway very neat work.
