In a fusion of jazz, classical, and musical theatre genres, this orchestral suite features music from A Lovely Ending, a musical short film directed by Jonny Harmon and Emma Broyles. Under the leadership of Jason Rhue, the music was written by a group of composers, each creating their own musical number: "Plane and Simple" and a theme used in "Memory Stage" by Tyler Botka, "Have We Done All Our Living?" and "A Lovely End Credits" by Jason Rhue, and "How to Say 'I Love You'" by Emma Hills. Emma also wrote the lyrics to her number, while Katherine Padilla wrote lyrics to all the other numbers. Considering the strong influence from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story and Justin Hurwitz's La La Land, jazz orchestra serves as the perfect hybrid ensemble to capture the character of A Lovely Ending.
