As war evolves, there is one thing that is constantly improving - range, and risk. Take for example drones. Operating them has lower risk for the operators, while also being much cheaper, and the distance they can travel is quite huge. Cyberwarfare is also a thing, it carries almost no risk, while dealing damage to things on the other side of the world. Therefore, I would expect war to just continue the path it is on now, with slight adjustments. There would need to be something very groundbreaking for war to change.
