So yall aren't worrying, first yes the star will die and explode within the next 1, 000 or 10, 000 years so it will, but don't worry it is 650 light years away from earth so we will not be harmed at all and could just have a nice star show to watch sometime maybe, and let's just say if u get to actually watch the moment it happens you are extremely lucky! I hope this reassured you that we are safe and so is our solar system

People do realize that when we finally are able to see it, that actually means that Betelgeuse blew up 645 years before that right? If we were to see the supernova in 2025 that means that the star actually supernovaed in the year 1380, and it has just taken that long for the light to travel to earth and show us when it blew up in the past.

It takes 8 minutes for light from the sun to get to earth. And 40 to get to Jupiter. How long would it take for that?

The most interesting fact is that we humans would be around 700 years to witness this

Where at a safe distance it will not hurt earth it will be like a show in the sky and I am pretty sure that it will last a few months.

Those who are worried about this, don't be scared! A supernova from a star can't affect us, even 50-100 light years away! The closest star to us that could go supernova is IK pegasi, but it's 150 light years away, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about!

It is, So we will watch a nice super nova show!

if we traveled 650 lyrs (light years) to the star, it would already be dead. aswell as you being able to see the first moonlanding. this is possible because light need to travel towards you for you to be able to see the world.

*Community Note*
The Sun is not massive enough to go supernova. Supernovae explosions typically occur in stars that are much larger than the Sun, with a mass of at least 10 times that of our star. The Sun will eventually become a red giant, then a white dwarf, as it exhausts its fuel, but it will not explode in a supernova.
