A Strange Blinking Star Is Troubling The Astronomers

Показать описание
Astronomers have discovered a strange blinking star in the Milky Way galaxy. This star is about 100 times larger than the Sun and is named VVV-WIT-08. It is about 25,000 light years away towards the center of our galaxy. It almost disappeared in the night sky before slowly returning to its former brightness. But what is the reason behind this strange behavior?

“Astronomers have found a new breed of blinking stars” meanwhile my whole life since I was a kid I can distinctly see 3 stars with the naked eye that blink blue, red, green. I live in rural upstate ny and we have a spectacular view of the night sky. I just got a 2, 000$ telescope last year and I’ve been really getting into it lately. Love the video ❤️

I heard about that star on TV they said there's something floating in front of it and we're seeing what looks like from the past due to it being so far it affects its time

When it said “The star disappeared Then returned to its original brightness”
it made me think that thing might’ve been a meteor entering the atmosphere because when meteors enter the atmosphere it looks like that

But by the looks of things we’re not dead so we’re good

Have a question that is why the nomenclature system of cosmic objects is like giving them a password as their name?
They should learn something from the system of biological nomenclature...
I don't think that they themselve could retain these names for even a month...

The James Webb telescope will sort it for you it’s going to sort a lot including Tabbies Star hopefully if and when it gets up there

I need to learn more since during the eta aquarid meteor show a few months ago or weeks ago i saw a star get really bright for about 1-2 seconds like it exploded or something. Didnt know what it was or anything about it. Wish I had a camera to have recorded it 😕

This would have been more interesting if the apparent magnitude of the star was given in the presentation. Numbers do count!
