You can actually land on the top part of the head with an arch vile launching you from the lift. Then shoot with a machine gun.

Rockets aren't the only way I you walk through his head you'll see one of the main designers head and if you shoot it the final boss dies instantly

Easisest way to beat Icon of Sin levels:
-BFG the demons he spawns in
-Quicksave as soon as the platform starts rising up so you can try again
-Fire the rocket launcher when the top tip of the rocket launcher texture is touching the chin of the icon of sin

except theres ONLY invincibility pickups on the easiest difficulty. Normally, you just clear some of the horde with the BFG, and ignore it when youre going up the elevator cuz all the fireballs are gonna miss anyways while youre moving upward. then do the rocket thing as normal. The hardest thing to deal with is lost souls, caco's etc up against the edge of the elevator messing things up.

Or idclip and walk through it to see the REAL end boss. The game devs head on a spike.

In gzdoom I used to stand on top of the rising platform and angle my view down slightly and then start shooting rockets. Not sure of that worked or not.

Is the top boss match. Well I'm going to try to beat him again in the enhanced version. I know this game like the back of my hand but still I haven't beat this boss. I'm excited too with all these new expansions
