Dyslexia: A Gift or Disability? | The Dyslexic Road Trip

Could dyslexia be a gift? Or is it only ever a disability? Documentary maker Richard Macer sets off on a road trip with his dyslexic son Arthur to find the answer. The resulting film is rather like fear and loathing but with bad spelling! On route, they meet Richard Branson and Eddie Izzard and many other successful dyslexic people.

With Richard being tested for dyslexia, 40 years after leaving school, will the result give him closure on a lifetime of feeling different? And if he is dyslexic - does that mean his son has inherited a gift or a curse?

When Arthur said, "it's kind of sad" when explaining how he put his imaginary story together, and Eddie, without missing a beat shared something he would do very similarly that he never really tells people about... such kindness. I hope the moon and stars for Arthur's future.

I like the boys analogy of porcupine quills that you cannot penetrate to failing to grasp the concept and I liked his openness to talk about his strengths and weaknesses ! He also looks like he's going to be a heartthrob when he grows up !

Lots of wishful thinking here. Not exactly a documentary with the intention of learning, but proving a thesis.
