As someone who struggled with dyslexia in school this was so informative! I had so many teachers completely confused about what was “going on” with me. Some thought I was dumb and gave me an iq test. Unsurprisingly I tested poorly in the awareness but outstanding in spatial awareness and problem solving which had them really scratching their heads. Others saw that I just needed a different approach to help me. One math teacher in particular changed my life by taking time to help me understand things in a way I could digest. It was the first time I felt like something wasn’t wrong with me and maybe I was just different. My son is still young, but I’ve been researching the subject so I can help him if/when the time comes. What a great resource!

Very comprehensive video. I suspecty child to be dyslexic. This helps. Also, to talk to his school. It is an alternative school. But still, they couldn't figure it out. And the inability affected the behaviour

I fully agree with Davis method and it's usefulness, however, how do you deal with Chinese or Japanese alphabets with 10, 000 unique and similar looking symbols that often have no relation to the real image??

I read dislexia exists in China, but they have pictures, not words. How this method applies to other languages?

I am sorry, I disagree. some might be true for young children or particular dyslexics.... but global thinking & problem solving make this only true for some people. I am dyslexic and very high visual. I think in pictures. (There is always the problem that pictures & object look vastly different from different angles & that needs to be integrated into understanding. As well as the idea that cats may all look different, but they are all cats.) I never had trouble in school, although I was a late reader and terrible speller.... I could always reason out what I needed to understand. "Does that make sense?" was something I and my parents asked me all the time! Things need to make sense...if they don't, you are in trouble.
