Hi-Gear Habitat Universal Porch Review - And Why I Sold It!

Last year I bought the Hi-Gear Habitat Universal porch to go with our Zenobia 8 tent. It a good porch and was a nice addition to our setup, although it did have some bad points. Watch this video to learn about the good, the bad and the reason I eventually sold it.

Thank you, this was so helpful. This might work really well for us. Our Zenobia 6 nightfall is a fantastic size for us (Mum and Dad), our mid teenager and our 3 large dogs. We would only need the side extension when weather dictates the need for an area to dry off the dogs, have mats down to dry off paws/feet, hang wet gear etc. In fine weather the zenobia 6 does everything we want it to do, including the ability to set up the "kitchen" in the living area with the cooking space by one of the doors for ventilation. You can't argue with Higear tents really can you? Great budget spacious tents if you don't want to spend Outwell polycotton inflatable prices. Your 8 person looks fantastic. Too big for us now our eldest has left home but a great option for those who need family space with a built in porch. Thanks again and happy camping! 😊

Re: side porches in general i thought you might have added another negative: poor aerodynamics in windy conditions. You can align a rectangular tent to the prevailing wind but not the porch which seems a bit sacrificial!

Thankyou oh my these 2 tents are exact ones I've just picked to decide between it's just I love the 4 rooms in zenobia 8 whereas you have two in the other... but then got little ones so don't want hassel of taking too long to put up porch dohh decisions decisions thankyou for sharing 🤍🕯

We have the Hampton 8dlx nightfall and are looking to get this porch as the attached porch is not big enough and when the front door opens everything gets dripped if it's been raining.

My Zenobia 6 tent has rubbish pegs too. You would’ve thought they would use the same pegs consistently. Weird!

Do you know if this porch fits on the Hampton 8DLX Nightfall tent too? We have the Hampton 8 but want a side porch too 😂
