My sister opened up a store where she sells ice cream, shaved ice, nachos, and other junk and there was this worry that it wouldn't be able to get customers to come by, but the first day of opening, several people came in and one customer left but then came back later to get more junk food. She had tears of joy. I was really proud and happy for her.

This is what crushes a lot of start up businesses. People have such high hopes and they might have excellent food or products, but if the customers aren't there, it just crushes your soul.

This made me extra sad and happy. My family ran a restaurant for many years and I remember the slow days where my parents would just sit and wait. That was before the internet.

I can only imagine how broken she felt when no one showed up, working so hard, making so many sacrifices to do what you truly wants, and it doesn't pan out in the end. I can't even begin to fathom how she felt when things finally took a turn for the better and things worked out in the end.
