The Last Guardian (PS4 Pro Review)

Sony "fans" won't make it past the second sentence of this review. As for everyone else, I've been awaiting this game ever since my time with Shadow of the Colossus. Is this game everything I had hoped it would be after 9 years in development?

Your example of her bad AI was flawed, though.

You cant command Trico to eat, so she'll do so when she feels like it. You can speed that process up, though, by holding the barrel in your hands, and either letting her to pick it up from your hands (fastest), or throw it when her movement indicates that she's prepared.

If the barrel is right under her butt, and you give her directional commands, you are not saying "hey, eat this barrel", you are showing what direction she should go or be facing. Its just going to shift her focus to you and your commands, instead of the barrel (which she cant even properly see in your example) in the footage.

Especially later when she's more obedient and cares for the boy more (like in the spot in your example), the barrels are no longer going to draw Trico like a magnet, because she is more thoughtful of you. Early in the game, she might try to pick the barrels from your hands suddenly (if you are walking away for example), while later she will only do so if you stand infront of her, ready.

The AI has few flaws (which are unintentional), but they arent really that common. Usually the issues appear in very tight areas where Trico already has a hard time moving, and the boys directions are inconsistent due to the way the camera works, and how the "point of interest" sometimes snaps to different spots.

That said, I think 7/10 is understandable considering how different people react to the controls and the camera, but how its "not a very good game" is a little questionable.
