NYC Health + Hospitals’ NYC Care program wants all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay, to feel empowered to see a primary care doctor. A primary care doctor can:

-Diagnose and help manage chronic conditions, like asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure
-Educate and ensure that preventive services are offered, such as routine screenings and immunizations
-Refer to qualified specialists as needed
-Support in reaching personal wellness goals

To encourage New Yorkers to access primary care, the NYC Care team has developed videos that break down how NYC Care works, and what your rights are when seeing your doctor. They feature Jonathan Jiménez, MD, MPH, Executive Director of NYC Care, and are available in-language in English and Spanish.
