These are definitely a workout!

A decade ago, we rented and lifted and placed in the back of a Toyota 4 runner...the last few years it has been a Toro ZTR model and we have a utility trailer.

I would use a plank/ramp to get it back into the back of a truck. The Ryan has a drum to fill with water that can break if taken off a curb. The Ryan is my #1 choice for me but for a home owner there are easier units for renting once a year .
During training I had aerators go through fences and it takes time to understand to let the machine to do the work, it's 300 pounds with water in the drum you cannot do a days work trying to muscle the aerator.

I used to do this myself, and it was a workout. Found someone that will do it for about the same price. The lawn gets torn up a bit either way. Mostly along the edges and in corners.

JB, the extra cost between renting and hiring a landscaper is minimal “a man needs to know his limitations” 😂
Good info 👍👍

I rent at a local rental shop. Takes 2 guys to lift in and take out. I don’t find it so bad running it, definitely not a lawnmower but not so bad. It drives itself basically. Lifting splines for turns is about the worst it gets. Don’t forget to mark sprinkler head locations.. otherwise it’ll cost you. (Don’t ask 😂)

I really did think I knew where all of them were. Hahaha

Hi J B I'm 67 and the last 3 yrs I've been doing this for my customers. I was exhausted! My yard only now.

I know exactly what you are talking about 😁 its a work out but really helps your lawn. But there are some machines that are easy to handle so take a look at them before renting or even buying one 👍🏻

I will always rent a Stinger stand-on aerator.
