Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel to check out today's video about "How To Grow Long Relaxed Hair For Beginners." In this video, I discuss what you need to know to START and create a healthy relaxed hair care routine. I've done this routine consistently during the beginning of my relaxed hair journey in 2008 and started doing this exact routine again consistenly in 2021 with excellent results in retained length. Having a haircare routine and healthy practices, if relaxed or natural, helps maintain length and health for all hair types.

For anyone new, I’d trust her! Meg has grown her hair and cut it so many times just to grow it back out before anyone else, natural AND relaxed!

For me realizing that I needed different shampoos, deep conditioners and leave-in conditioners was a game changer. Being consistent with protein then took it to a whole nother level. Heading to mid-back in 2022!

I just want to say it's so good to see WOC still relaxing their hair and it's healthy. Some of us were bullied into going natural but after hearing you out and watching your journey I'm excited for mine

I was natural for 14 years. I relaxed my hair last year and had no idea how to style or take care of it but I always watched Meg even when I was natural. Immediately it clicked, I said “I know where to go. My girl Meg always came through with the relaxed hair videos!” So here I am baby! Thank you Meg. ❤

After 5 years and 4 months, my appointment is set for this Friday to get my relaxer. I am excited. Between you, April Sunny and Hairlicious, I’ve learned a lot about relaxed hair. I’m surprised my hair grew as long as it did back in the day so I just know it can only be great things to come with this new found knowledge. Keep going Megz! 🤗🤗

These tips also are important for natural hair growth. Healthy hair is healthy hair, whether it's relaxed or natural. The only thing I would say is that with natural hair you have to be very mindful of mechanical damage. Curly, coily hair is more prone to tangles and knots, so a lot of damage can happen if you don't detangle carefully. In contrast, relaxed hair is fragile due to chemical damage. So like you said, limiting heat use is important, and protein treatments can strengthen your hair.

I remember longhaircare forum. Length checks. Etc. When i developed a hair care routine and stuck to it implementing treatments throughout the month my hair did so well. I applied heat although i understand less is more. Giving the hair a break sometimes with protective styles really helped too.

Those blogs/forums back in the day was so helpful. One of the biggest take away from those hair forums was how to apply products to my hair. I’m still a little heavy on the conditioner. But in most cases a little goes a long way.

Just cut my hair into a pixie cut & relaxed it after 13yrs natural. As a natural my hair never grew past my collarbone. Gonna see if I can grow & maintain it this way. Thanks for the tips !

Been following you for years!! And I have used SEVERAL of your methods. Thanks for the refresher. It always helps to double back every now and then. Sometimes we can get forgetful and lazy. But it eventually shows in your hair, so it's good to stay consistent with your regimen🥰

You just earned a new subscriber. I have long hair, but I love learning how other people tend to their gardens and they usually give the run around. You went in deep and told us what you use and how you use these products. I learned a lot. I’ve been natural for 15 years and just peeled my hair yesterday..natural hair has been a challenge to deal with. I’m happy I ran into your page❤️

Literally was applying relaxer and watching this video I have about 4 different conditions and castor oil in my hair for Deep conditioning. I was natural 3.5 years and was over it. Implementing the Deep conditioner and protein is a must!!! Thanks girl I’ll be doing this routine weekly and keep you updated on my progress!!
