Thank you so much. I get discouraged with my hair growth, shedding, and dandruff. But, I'm going to do better with my hair going into 2023. No excuses. I will achieve healthy hair.

Yes, ma'am...hair grows on the average about 1/2 inch a month. I don't think alot of people realize that. Some grows a bit more but 1/2 inch is the average. Healthy hair and scalp is the road to length. Thank you for your informative information. You're the bomb...young lady! Massaging your scalp daily stimulate the blood flow to your hair follicles. I'm 65 and was always taught to have clean hair and keep it moisturized especially black people hair. My hair is bra length at the present. I just want to keep it healthy.
You're awesome 🥰

This gave me so much validation!! Lol I see these natural hair gurus on YT doing these extensive hair regiments and it has always discouraged me because that’s NOT ME AT ALL. I’m all about protective hair styling, the only thing is I keep them in a little too long. So I will be adjusting to less expensive protective styles that I can keep in for a month and wash, deep condition, seal and style my hair every month! Thank you for this!! Loved everything about it! ❤

I will definitely support your business, young lady. I'm so proud of you. You are providing basic tips that we received from our mothers and grandmothers in times past. Because we are trying to wear the latest styles, we neglect to do basic hair care. While I do not have a problem with wigs or weave, I believe that we should take care and wear our own hair as much as possible. I love natural hair. We have to take the time to care for it. Your hair is beautiful. We have beautiful hair, and it does grow with time and care. Thank you so much for the tips and reminders.

This video came just in time. I've been trying to figure out where to start with my hair. I've been depressed for three years, and just let my hair go. Yesterday i found a bald spot. This video has given me a lot of useful tips on where to start.

the reason why majority of black people have short hair is simply because we don’t know how to take care of our hair properly.
on tv we mostly see people with straight hair or loose curls but we don’t really see kinky hair so that’s maybe one of the reason why we lack so much knowledge about our hair. But I am here to explain our hair and how to grow your hair!
most humans grow hair at the same rate 1/2 inch per month the reason why other races have longer hair is because they have slicker hair which is less prone to dryness and breakage than kinkier hair which allows them to retain more length with less effort and their hair apears longer because it’s straight our hair shrinks which make it seem short.
our hair is naturally dry and lots of us use very thigh hairstyles which can cause hairloss.
so for our hair to grow is to moisture it and put it in protective style for length retention!
if you look at tribes in Africa : chad, Ethiopia, Somali and gambia etc they all use something that moisturises their hair and than put it in protective styling for weeks or even month and than they wash it.

The most important thing to know on how to grow you natural hair is your hair porosity because if you know your hair porosity than you’ll know what products will work the best for you you have 3 types of hairporosity : high, medium, low

if you have high porosity that means that you hair absorbs products very quickly and then let it go so your hair gets wet very fast but also dries out very fast

if you have medium that means that the cuticles aren't too close together, but aren't too open either. This allows moisture to penetrate easily, and it also makes it easier to retain moisture for a longer period of time so basically neutral.

If you have low that means that water doesn't readily absorb. Your hair may be low porosity if it takes a long time to wet and dry It doesn’t allow moisture to be absorbed into the hair shaft so product just sits on the head and it’s easier to get product build up.

Washday
Please have a regimen / routine is very important and don’t skip wash days and deep conditioning because dirty hair DOES NOT GROW.

If you have high porosity hair your hair is constantly begging for hydration so
You have to deep condition weekly, protein treatment monthly, highly recommend rice water but don’t over use it, pre pooing is very helpful, use thick creams and butters, lots of water for wash n gos, rinse hair in cold water when washing it wash weekly or bi weekly .

low porosity : lightweight products are the best, wash weekly to prevent build up, loc method, rinse hair with warm water when washing, say no to silicones

wash day tips for everyone :

I highly recommend to do a pre poo with conditioner or hot oils before and gently detangle your hair with your fingers first before combing through to prevent breakage than everytime you are done with each section put it in braids than wash it out and put shampoo only shampoo your roots you can massage it if you want but still keep the braids in then deep condition your hair you can take out the braids but still make sure that it’s in section and not all clumsy
rinse the deep conditioner out with cold water or warm depend on your porosity and dry it with a shirt instead of a towel since the texture of the towel can damage the hair cuticles, your hair must be soft now than I recommend to do either lco or loc method depends on what porosity you are ( leave in conditioner or liquid, cream, and a sealant oil )
For high porosity I recommend castor oil, almond oil, jojoba oil and grapeseed oil as sealant and for low porosity jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, argan oil Or baoab oil. and then put any moisturizing oil on your scalp and edges massage it after and than you can braid it make sure the end are the most moisturised you can twirl them to if theres unneeded hair under your ends cut it.

For wash n gos:
Use a ton of water, apply gel from roots to ends, define clumps that naturally form and don’t touch until dry if it’s dry in day 2 refresh it with a refresher until it’s wash day than you can start over ❤️

When taking down protective style always use something with slip / oil/conditioner/aloe Vera this prevents breakage
Sleep with bonnet or silk pillow to protect for less damage
Don’t use heat to much.

i like the logic behind conditioning and detangling 1st and then shampoo. i'll try that on my next wash day!

Truth be told ever since I stopped using the black hair care products and over complicating my hair practices my hair has been easy to manage and is down my back.

All I do is just wash deep condition use a leave in and then shea butter put my hair in a sade loose pony tail and braid and repeat weekly or every 2 weeks my hair is down my back. The only time I do anything special is if I’m going somewhere but day to day pony tail loose braid.
