Katy ISD parents demand removal of 'pornographic' books in schools.

Parents in Katy ISD said the district has porn in its school libraries, and they're upset about certain books they say children have no business reading.

As parents, we need to know who is running for the school board because we elect them. We need to research who they are, their previous and past history on what they have supported. Whether or not they are local or have relocated from another district and why. Otherwise, it is playing Russian roulette with your child's education and well being.

As someone who had read 4 of those books, I know for a fact that they are young adult novels and not directed for teens

So, minors can't go into adult novelty stores or theaters. (that's the law) but, they can just read about it at school... makes sense..

These books are for young ADULTS who have an objective view of those subjects and are not easily influenced.

It's one thing for kids to find things on their own, from peers, etc.
It's entirely different that it comes to them approved by the adults charged with their education, and consequently their young life development.
