Almost all Toyota 4x4s and trucks have this issue at some point - so glad that I finally figured out the source of the squeaking chatter and thumping and got the issue all taken care of. Thanks Matt! @sunbeampicture

One thing I forgot to mention while filming and editing is that the vehicle needs to have full weight on the wheels when you're filling the slip yoke. Otherwise you will put too much grease in and it could blow out under stress.

Thank you for your last part of the video. I'm going through a difficult process in my life and it is hysterical that God used you to bring me a message even when I'm trying to run away from my problems watching youtube videos of car work and then feel good that I did something with my time, thank you God bless you and never stop doing that.

Thanks man, seeing this 3 years later but very nice to see someone else also interested in 2 very important things in my life as well, car maintenance and Jesus!

I have a TRD Off Road 5VZ 2003, since a couple of years now, it has always shifted into reverse very slow and does that clunck sound whenever I come to a full stop, I'll give this a try.

Thank you so much! I have a 1991 Toyota Pickup Rwd, and the squeak came on today so I was pretty concerned at first. Thank you for setting my mind at ease. God bless you!

Replace all the ujoints and drive shaft support bearing and that clunk will go away. It typically is because each joint location has a little slip so as you driveshaft starts from a stop each tiny bit of slop adds up and creates a delayed input to the rear differential, causing a thud.

I changed my 2007 tacoma sport 2wd V6 rear differential fluid yesterday with lsd oik as described on the differential housing with a lsd only sticker on it. Now the u joint squels/chirps on reverse. It wasn't making these noises before the fluid change. Gotta try this method. Bye I like your message at the end. God bless

My 07 tundra 4.7L has a slight bump instantly when i left off the brakes from a complete stop and I’m thinking it’s the slip yoke. I also have a very mild vibration between 50-70 mph, i thought it was my cheap tires but since it’s doesn’t happen every time im thinking it’s related to the slip yoke being dry. Going to try to grease it first

Engineer I worked with said any type of grease is better than no grease- your thoughts on that? My 1992 pickup says it needs three different types.

Hey so I have an 88 Toyota pick up 4x4 and what happens is once I’m catching up speed and I’m going to 4th gear and then 5the gear it vibrates do you think the ujoints could have something to do with that ?

If you're getting that clunk your u joints are toast already

Thanks for the video. I have a loud clunk when shifting to reverse and back to drive. Think greasing the u joints would fix it?

A little late for a question but here goes. I'm having similar issues with my '06 AC Limited 2wd, and when I looked at the joints I found no grease fittings. Are the fittings on the 4wd trucks only?

About every fifth or tenth times I stop my 05 tundra I get a bump that's so hard I always look in my mirror to see if someone rear ended me. It's that hard. All I can find is that it's my slip joint and that ford has a special teflon grease for that so I'm going to try and see if that fixes it.

Once a joint makes a noise, it's junk and even though lubricating it makes it quiet for a while, it's damaged and need replacing.

My 1996 mercury grand marquis makes a clunking sound when i put it in reverse and in drive and people are saying it's the u joint so please help me with that

Don’t worry about your puberty squeaks. You’ll be over it soon hopefully with minimal humiliation, unless of course you post it online.
