Former special counsel Robert Mueller said the "report is my testimony" as he read his opening statement to Congress.

"This deserves the attention of every American," Mueller said Wednesday, opening testimony that largely tracked with the details of his investigation of the Kremlin's efforts to sway the election that put Donald Trump in office.

Mueller began testifying before Congress on Wednesday at the start of a pair of hearings that Democrats hope could change the trajectory of Donald Trump's presidency, though it became apparent soon after the start of his remarks that he was unlikely to offer information beyond what had been detailed in his office's final report.

Obstruction of justice and witness tampering are obvious as was campaign violations. Multiple felonies. In addition, Manafort and Russians fed each other data to influence the election. The data on the Russian side was stolen form the DNC. The line between the campaign and the Russian agents is incontrovertible. Manafort was working for Trump at the time and continued his association with Trump long after he resigned. "The contested swing states that Trump narrowly won, such as Michigan and Wisconsin, were also places where both the Trump campaign and Russia’s Internet Research Agency focussed their efforts.

"Herein lies at least one answer to the question of why Russia would want the Trump campaign’s polling data: it offered demographic targets for Russia’s bots and propaganda."
