Final Fantasy has featured hundreds upon hundreds of voice actors over the years, but some of them have also been top tier actors know for their award winning performances in some of the biggest films and TV shows. Throughout this video, we're running through some of the biggest names to have voiced Final Fantasy characters.

Shoutout to Ralph Inesons performance as Cid in FF16, the coolest uncle anyone could ever have. Calm, cool and collected but with a demeanor that lets you know he’s always ready to kick ass. His voice was amazing in the vvitch and spectacular in FF16

I love John Dimaggio. He played Wakka, Kimahri, and Heidegger in Remake. Pretty cool

I am surprised John DiMaggio wasn’t mentioned. He’s a major and prolific voice actor who regularly plays Gilgamesh in FF as well as Barthello in 12. He also Plays Heidegger in 7 Remake and Wakka in 10. But outside of FF you would know him best as Bender in Futurama and Jake from Adventure Time. He’s mostly voice work, but he’s prolific.

Also absolutely SHOCKED Tom Kenny wasn’t mentioned. He’s famous for being SpongeBob Squarepants but he’s also prolific. Rin in 10 is the main thing that comes to mind but he’s done at least 1 or 2 other FF roles.

Brit Baron also has work outside of Tifa as she was on GLOW which I hate Netflix cancelled.

As a massive fan of Buffy and Angel at the time Kingdom Hearts was released, I was delighted to see David Boreanaz voice Squall.

Keith David is a legend! The Thing and They Live are two of the best thrillers from the 80's. Liked his short role in NOPE also. He has an unmistakeable voice. Like Clancy Jones.

The movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is a grossly underrated movie. I liked it when it was first released and I’m really glad I bought the DVD because it held the first preview of the upcoming Final Fantasy X game.

Jonathan Bailey of Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers also voices The Crystal Exarch in FFXIV. I hope that they continue to be able to book him despite his star rising to new heights.

Chaos jokes aside. I think voice acting in FF has been phenomenal since its debut. And I hope if Dissidia ever returns, all the original actors reprise their roles instead of being replaced like in FF7R.

Liam O'brien. Maybe not as famous as most of the list has played some incredible roles.

Red XIII in AC, Kain Highwind and my favourite role of his in FF Ciaus Ballad.

He also voiced one of the most iconic lines in gaming "You are not prepared!" - Illidan Stormrage.

Just YESTERDAY, I fell down the rabbit-hole of watching all of the Encounter Voicelines of characters fighting Chaos in Dissidia/012 and even how, in the same game/"universe", he adds completely different flairs to Chaos. I absolutely love him and would love to see him work on another Dissidia game 💜

Dwight Schultz deserves a mention. He starred in “The A-Team” in the 80’s and made multiple guest appearances on Star Trek shows as Lt. Barclay. He was Maechen in FFX, Maechen and O’aka in FFX-2, and Old Dalan and Gran Kiltias Anastasis in FFXII. The man is a chameleon…just check out his unhinged performance as Professor Pyg in Batman Arkham Knight.

The echo they added to Suvari's voice in Advent Children did a LOT of the heavy lifting (similar to Lance Bass' Sephiroth) as she sounded incredibly stiff in KH II.

Also worthy of mention, FFXIV brought in a few actors of Game of Thrones fame, most notably Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton) as Gaius van Baelsar and Joe Dempsie (Gendry) as Ardbert and Arenvald. Joe Dempsie was especially a delight, as his voice acting was among the best in all of Shadowbringers, if not the whole game.

Also, I love Aaron Paul as Nyx just because now we can link Breaking Bad with Final Fantasy
