Americans can now renew passports online for 1st time ever

The State Department revealed exclusively to ABC News that its online passport renewal program is now fully available to the public.

I renewed mine online and had my new passport in two weeks! ...and I did not request the delivery be expedited. It was normal delivery. I was shocked.

I did mine a couple months ago. It was extremely easy and quick. For the photo I just used my home's wall background and my wife used her phone to take a snapshot of me and I thought it didn't look perfect but they still accepted it. Got my new passport in just a little bit more than a week. 100X better than renewing at the post office.

My first passport literally expires this year! Finally, things are being done online—never understood why I need to do most things in person lol

We just renewed our sons US Passport by mail and it was the fastest we ever had. We sent the application by USPS Priority Mail and did not pay the extra for expedited processing but we paid the extra for faster shipping and received it in about 3 weeks. Great service!
