Yamaha MX88 Synthesizer In-Depth Demo

At Superbooth 17, we talked with Yamaha's Blake Angelos, who gave us an in-depth look at their new MX88 synthesizer.

The MX88 is the flagship of the Yamaha MX line.

The sound collection of the MX88 is based on the Yamaha Motif sound engine, and contains everything from synthesizer leads and pads to realistic acoustic instrument sounds. The Concert Grand Piano sound has also been optimized for the MX88 keyboard.

There's a sweet electric/jazzy, almost Metheny-ish lead guitar sound at 16:16. Is that a stock sound? Very nice!

Now that I have my MX back I've been trying to figure out how to use the arpeggios for a guitar part. I can't find anything online that clearly displays this feature and the manual is vague at best. If there's anyone out there that can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately the keybed doesn't hold up to long term use. About 6 or 7 months after I got mine, the keybed in certain areas got really loose. Now at just over a year, it rattles and I can hear things hitting other things inside.

I also noticed that most of the demos I see on YouTube has the volume all the way up. I just bought the MX88 and realized why. I noticed that I had to crank my volume all the way up on the MX88 to somewhat match the mid volume on my s90es. Is anyone else having this issue?
