So pretty! You’re right, should find someone with similar hair who understands your unique needs - well for me the challenge has been more than most! Ugh listen, I have the world’s worst hair (no really, like there should be a Wiki page for my hair)- it’s fragile, thin, baby fine, porous, dull, and naturally curly and frizzy. I finally found a great stylist, then I moved and traveled 6 hours every 2 months, until that salon closed. Now I just go around looking like a 6-yr old lol

Everything you said it so on point! Is frustrating walking to a nice salon to ask questions or see if they cater to you, and everyone seem so snobby and unwelcoming. So yeah, price shouldn't dictate how profesional someone is, went to a 5 star salon, and got my hair fucked. It seems that the stylist didn't have enough experience for thick hair. But you learned.

Don't underestimate the power of building a relationship with your hair stylist. I have been going to the same stylist for 2 years now, she knows my hair well and the haircuts get better and better. She will also work around my schedule because she knows I tip well and schedule in advance. She even gave me a free wash, blowout, and trim before a wedding without me even asking.

My wife is 15 years younger than I. When she first noticed how I usually get the best deal possible on most expenses and that I'm proud of it, she'd say how I'm the very first person in her life who doesn't mind telling people about it, and that she loves my "conviction" in the subject. She likes to save money as well, but she never before practiced my level of frugality, she does now LOL. Like spending the most on anything would be something to brag about SMH. Great tips! Agree i rarely go to a hair salon i do time to time but found some haircuts a total rip off or they didbt cut or style my hair the way i wanted it to be till i found one this year she not only gave me a bonus but when i cut my hair it did frizz out or feel yuck it fel natural

As someone with Asian hair myself I found a wonderful Japanese hair dresser in Berlin. Have been going to this one for ages. I was never satisfied when I went to German hairdressers.. they are not familiar with cutting Asian hair.

I've done super expensive to cheap and for a while I kept going to cheaper salons. I found nothing beats quality treatment. Im now back to $$ and paying for quality.
